About
The Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust is responsible for managing two of Australia’s premier sports venues – the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium. Both venues are located at Moore Park, only 4km from the central business district and adjacent to the popular bars, restaurants, cinemas and shops of the Entertainment Quarter. The historic Sydney Cricket Ground boasts an impressive list of credentials, encompassing cricket, Australian Rules Football, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Soccer, Baseball, Cycling and major concerts by the Rolling Stones, Billy Joel and Elton John, Michael Jackson, Madonna, the Eagles, Prince, Green Day and the Wave Aid concert. The Sydney Cricket Ground provides the perfect balance between the big crowd atmosphere and intimacy with the on-field action. These aspects, combined with the location of the venue, make visiting the SCG a special experience for all patrons.

The history of the ground is so interesting and the whole tour was fantastic. From the baggy green worn by Sir Don Bradman and another by Steve Waugh to sitting in the Captains change room chair in the Australian dressing room. I don’t think you could out a price on that experience. The only negative was that the Sydney Swans were training on the ground so we were unable to walk on the turf, but there is always next time.Thank you for the review of the SCG Tour. We are proud of the venue and the heritage of this iconic sports ground. Our museum does have some key cricket and sports memorabilia on display including a Don Bradman Baggy Green. Best wishes and thanks for visiting the SCG.Written 16 April 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 15 April 2023

- Skeney57Sydney, Australia21,999 contributionsThe Old Girl is Still Kicking!Been a few years since my last visit and it was my first one day match for close to 20 years. But very hard to knock back an offer to go to a corporate box? A great experience, friendly staff, great viewing spot and full-strength beer on offer, what more do you want? I first visited the SCG with my dad in the 60's and made many visits thru the 70's, 80's &90's. As a sport location it has evolved & changed over the decades but still gets the job done. A world class facility and having been to the first day/night match in 1978, it was great to go to the most recent with the same opposition, the West Indies and the same result! An Aussie win!!Thank you for the positive review of the SCG and the match you recently attended. The connection you have with the ground is special. Being at the first day night match in 1978 and to see the lights come on would have been incredible experience. The atmosphere was electric, and watching the game with friends made it even more memorable. We booked a group transfer with Aussie Baby Taxi, the best cab service in Sydney, and they provided a seamless and comfortable ride to and from the stadium. Highly recommend both the SCG and Aussie Baby Taxi for an unforgettable experience in Sydney! We appreciate your kind words regarding the SCG and the recent match you experienced. The test matches held at the SCG are truly a unique and special occasion every year. Referred to as the pink test in tribute to Jane McGrath, the atmosphere at the ground is always vibrant. We booked seats at the top of the Brewongle Stand, they were all covered in bird poop. All the seats in the area were the same. We paid good money for those seats, disgraceful!

Having seen some Sheffield Shield cricket at the SCG in 2020, we had the opportunity to return, and were able to watch couple of hours on Day 1 and just over an hour on Day of the match against Tasmania.
Many things were the same, free entrance, just the two stands open for spectators and the crowd on both days was around the 200 mark.
The most important discovery was that 6 oysters were $22, the cheapest we had come across up to that point during our stay in Sydney, so Mrs FB indulged !
Coffees were $4.50 each, a can of beer at $9, most hot foods were priced between $17-18, and a ham and cheese baguette was $11. A box of chips were $5.50. The SCG is a cashless venue so the credit card fees and exchange rate costs on my two coffees will probably be greater than the costs of the two drinks !
As for the cricket, NSW dominated, and we saw opener Daniel Hughes get his hundred. For anyone interested, fuller reviews of the cricket can be found on my blog, Fatbear's Sporting Diairies

Beautiful cricket ground with a couple of old stands still. Easy to enter and leave with friendly, helpful staff. Plenty of cover during rain. Plenty places to view cricket close up.

This is a fantastic ground to watch a cricket match, especially a fast-paced T20 match. Easy to get to with the new light rail service connecting to Central Railway Station it is a great place to enjoy. Do beware the pricing at the outlets, they know how to charge.

Hi,
There is not a merchandise shop on site at the current time, just the online store since Allianz Stadium has been under redevelopment.
I hope helps. Have a great day!

I sit in the top level Brewongle Stand which is between halfway to 50m line - great view if you can get tickets here especially in the front section. This is full of Swans members but there will also be some visiting supporters. The opposition cheer squad is on the lower level of the Bradman Stand near the goal posts at the Paddington end. The level above here was always great in the old Stand so it will still be good in the newer version. Hope this helps. Go Swans!

Hoping someone can help, we are coming up for the afl essendon Sydney game this Saturday and believe the game will finish around 7pm. There is a train leaving from central station at 8.30 pm. Can anyone advise what our best options will be, is it a long walk to central and is it hard getting out of the scg with 2 kids assuming it will be a sell out? Any help would be appreciated as the flights are sold out regional train is our only option. Thanks in advance.

There are buses from the Central to te SCG and back , or you can walk it takes about 20 mins
Depending on how old your two kids are that is , the bus may be the best option
There are heaps of buses after the game , may have to queue a bit but it clears pretty well

Hi Sunny,
Yes can take photographs during the tour. The tour starts in the Allianz Stadium forecourt, a 25-minute walk from Central Station. The SCG precinct is also serviced by various bus routes from Central and the CBD.

Public tickets
These will go on sale midway through 2017. Australian Cricket Family members will receive priority access to tickets, after which UK residents will be able to purchase directly from Cricket Australia’s official ticket agents, Ticketek (Adelaide Oval, Melbourne Cricket Ground and Sydney Cricket Ground). Please note that until the venue for Perth is confirmed we are unable to confirm the official ticket agent and the ticket agent for the Gabba is not yet confirmed. Cricket Australia will advise in due course.
