This is well worth stepping off your path in Sydney to go and visit. Make sure you take the time to relax in the park nearby and reflect on the church and its great interior

Best place in Sydney for Lessons and Carols as well as Midnight Mass on Christmas eve. Excellent music in a beautiful Francis Greenaway building

This venerable Anglican (Episcopalian) Church was designed by an eminent convict architect - Francis Greenway - many of whose examples are within 100 metres of this beautiful church. Apart from worship, it's also used for orchestral concerts and choral recitals becuase of its great acoustics. Highly recommended!

Intimate church services. Fine chamber music recitals in historically important church with excellent accoustics.

One of the foundations of Sydney's colonial years. The architecture is not your typical church, its beautiful, quaint and untouched from the earliest part of our history. Peaceful, serene and a place to see for all visitors. Close to Hyde park and all other central Sydney places of interest.

This is where you might go for the Anglican version of the Easter overnight vigil, or a funeral, or simply to escape the city buzz. It serves the legal folk and the law and parliament end of town. It is co-located with some of the older parts of Sydney and close to first settlement, and the old Sydney Hospital in... More

Just a wonderful piece of Sydney's heritage. Tucked away amongst the courts, not always easy to find, but worth looking for.

On first sight, St James was a mass of fencing and scaffolding. It’s always nice to see a building like this getting some maintenance. While the exterior was obscured, the interior was lovely. A service limited my ability to explore, but it seemed like a great little church. Just off the top end of Hyde Park, St. James is worth... More

St James' worship style is more like the Anglican worship in most of the rest of the world than most other city churches, except Christ Church St Laurence. Beautiful choir and Sung Eucharist service. The only drawback is the limited accessibility, probably due to its heritage listing.
