On first sight, St James was a mass of fencing and scaffolding. It’s always nice to see a building like this getting some maintenance. While the exterior was obscured, the interior was lovely. St James' worship style is more like the Anglican worship in most of the rest of the world than most other city churches, except Christ Church St Laurence. Beautiful choir and Sung Eucharist service. The only drawback is the limited accessibility, probably due to its heritage listing.

St. James Church is an history of Australia From its early settlement to the present day - the architect was Francis Greenway a convict at that time -the foundation stone was laid in 1819 and in 1824 the Church was consecrated by the Rev. Samuel Marsden Senior Chaplain to the Colony . The first memorial in the Church...
