My brothers and I spoiled our mum to mother's day at Floresco in the gardens. Needless to say it was fantastic. Payment was taken before mothers day, so no fussing over who was paying on the day. The menu was a set menu, which was fantastic, I new for weeks in advance what I was having. Our mother has certain... More

It was great to see so many Australian plans in one place; I am gardener so appreciated seeing them growing in one place. The glass house, while a little hard to locate, has some unusual Australian plants that I had not seen elsewhere. I did a tour (they are at 11 and 2) and found it really worthwhile. I also... More

The gardens were in good condition with lots of work being done around the place. I am from Melbourne and our Botanical Gardens are so much better. Maybe I visited at the wrong time of year but the gardens lacked colour and were full of natives, natives and more natives. We also had to pay for parking !

The nature trails are well designed, offering views of a wide variety of native Australian flora. Very relaxing and quiet at the foot of Black Mountain, but only minutes from downtown Canberra's City Center. The dining facility is very nice. Perfect way to spend a few hours.

We try and come here regularly, it is a treat in any season. The gardens are a wonderful dispplay of Australian Native flora, well laid out in different regional sections. I especially love wandering through the rainforest walk, with all the tree ferns - a great escape from the heat in summer. The cafe is nice, but we usually take... More

It's not a bad place. It just isn't good enough to stop at. Bring your own lunch. The food they serve was cooked earlier in the day and was not tasty.

We visited the Gardens during our trip to Canberra over Easter 2013. The walks were well laid out and the selection of plants terrific and well identified. Also saw a number of lizards and the birlife was wonderful as well. Wished we had had more time to look further, so will keep it on the list for next trip to... More

These gardens are lovely and I wish I had spent more time here. There were dry conditions before our arrival (Easter) so I guess that explains the lack of any colour but in spring time I'm sure these gardens could be lovely. We found a lovely spot for a picnic and had a quick but pleasant walk around before rushing... More

The magic of this place on the side of Black Mountain in Canberra is that it has recreated the diverse environments of Australia in one place. It has the only national collection of Australian plants - from rainforest to desert, Mallee scrub, mountain rockeries, gum forests and more. They are all there. If you are lucky you will also come across the... More
