Lake Burley Griffin is the centre focus of Canberra. It is a large lake which looks great, but is not one for swimming. Captain Cook fountain shooting towards the sky provides a focus and on a clear sunny day in Canberra and there is no better representation of the nation's capital. Driving around the lake at sunset on a still... More

Went for a walk around waiting for The Carillion bells to play. Lots of joggers and bike riders made the most of a beautiful day and the track.

such a pleasant thing to do . Takes about an hour 15 and always interesting depending on the season and time of day. A great freebie for visitors. Good way to get ideas of what else to do, call in at regatta point and see exhibition, hire a segway near the questacon carpark.Coffee at the national library....so many options.

It's not Sydney Harbour but for the capital of our great country it's good. Walk around it or cycle!!! The only problem in canberra is the labour government it's once again destroying us!! Why do we vote for these losers and their trade union masters??????

Whatever you do when in Canberra take some time to drop into one of many locations on the shores on the Lake - you will see many big attractions over the water, and if you're into running take time for a jog around !

Many Canberra residents use this lovely area for rest, relaxation or exercise. It's the place to don the running shoes or pull out the picnic basket!! The Carillon is a real feature in the lake.

We took a river cruise to get the best out of Lake Burley Griffin. Unfortunately the tour guide was not as informative as I had hoped but it was still enjoyable. We also walked sections of the Lake and was impressed.

After many attempts to ride in Canberra we finally had fantastic weather over a few days. We loved riding on the bike paths through the parks and around the lake. Canberrans have no excuse to be fit!! We noticed many families and many older people riding. Good on you!
