A really interesting way to see the city, with a different perspective. The guide explained the 360* tour around the skyline, it was really bizzarre to see people walking around in real time on the dish, seeing birds fly around and even nuns in the convent doing chores. I have been to the Alcazar before but couldn't see the Osura... More

Yes this is a great tour with lots of information about the town. We went last year when there was a festival and you had a good view of the floats and bands. Also all the landmarks and tourist information hot spots are pointed out so you can see how far away they are and more importantly- may decide where... More

But then I like the camera oscuro at Clifton suspension bridge. Old wooden staircases lead to the camera at the top. The guide is well practiced and 'scoops up' people projected on the dish who are walking in the surrounding squares. Good old fashioned fun and the kids like it too More

We went on the english language tour of this exhibit ( located in the Alcazar near Tio Pepe)- it lasted half an hour and the camera oscura allows you to see panormaic views of Jerez in every direction mirrored and projected onto a huge convex dish. You can see from the Cathedral roofs nearby to the fields beyond with wind... More

Go early, without sunlight the Alcazar and the Camara Oscura closes (no point in opening if you don't have sunlight to operate the Camara Oscura right?). Also, check the times as they have rounds for English and Spanish languages. Otherwise the Alcazar itself is ok. There's not much left in comparison to those of Sevilla or Segovia but it's still... The Camara Obscura is an add-on charge to the Alcazar tour, and well worth it. The "tour guide" takes you on a visual tour of the city of Jeref using the angled lens Camera which is something I had never heard of, a fun diversion and well worth the time and money for the experience More
