we went to the big island and went from rosavil as weather was not good. ferry from doolin will not run if weather bad.
it was very choppy that day with strong winds. would hate to see it in winter.

there are 2 companies that take you out to the Arans; this is one of them. I put average only as there is nothing special about these boats. It is just a form of transportation and either company is fine.

The ferry ride, the people, the beautiful landing, town, bed and breakfast, locals and great evening walking and stopping by the tavern was more than wonderful. Truly made the trip to Ireland worth every penny. I could not believe how wonderful and beautiful the people and country truly is. I am so looking forward to returning soon.

The Aran Islands are a great day trip from Galway. Aran Island ferries makes the trip so easy. If you are in the area without a car for your own transptation I would highly recommend this tour.
