We decided to visit the Castle which involves a bus ride. We were told the shuttle buses ran every ten to fifteen minutes, but despite being seen by various staff and various requests made to the reception at the Castle we had to wait in the cold for over 50 minutes without any explanation for the bus for the return... Glenveagh is a must visit if you're in this part of the world. Great views, interesting castle tour, beautiful gardens, walks of varying difficulites, good tea room. The castle and gardens is a 3km trip from the visitor centre, so unless you want to do the walk yourself, hop on the shuttle bus for 5 Euros. More

we visited here in august time and there was loads of little flies about as there are alot of flowers and trees in the gardens of it. The tour guide is lovely and explains everything in detail and is open to any questions you want to ask. More

We had a tour of the castle as a part of our Paddywagon 10 day All Ireland tour (highly recommended). The woman who did the tour was extremely passionate about the castle and its history and the information was good, infused with a little humour. The grounds and setting on the water are so picturesque. We made a visit to... More

Irelands Tallest waterful, and lovely centre with gardens, unfortunatly we followed google maps directions and it brought us to a point miles away from the visitor centre, where the walk ended... we followed the track to the visitor centre however it was many miles and took a good few hours. Make sure you start at the visitor centre. The waterful... More

This is a must see if you are visiting County Donegal. It is a bit out of town, but the drive is beautiful and well worth it. You can just walk around the grounds and lake for free, or you can take a shuttle to the castle for a small fee. The Castle was great - you get to hear... More
