We did this cruise a few times while staying in the Hodson Bay last summer. Couldn't be a more convenient and enjoyable way to get a bit of shopping done in Athlone! Pick up and drop off is just outside the hotel on the marina. Very informative and interesting tour about the history and wildlife of the area. Great way... More

We had an offer from the Radisson Blu hotel to join this tour! Unfortunately the weather was not so convenient, that is why we were freezing! On board, they offered some covers to protect ourselves but they were not so clean so we preferred standing the cold! The tour lasts about 75 minutes.

We took this boat tour for my husband's birthday. We were the only two people on the tour, so we had the entire boat to ourselves. Nothing like a private viking boat tour. The owner of the boat was very knowledgeable about the area and wild life. Plenty of swans really beautiful. The only time that I have ever seen... More

A fun trip on lough Ree, even despite the weather. cosy blankets and coffee much appreciated and the kids liked the hats. one thing to be aware of is that it essentially shuttles between Athlone and the Hodson bay hotel so there can be a wait before return - we were in Athlone for 45 minutes

Went to Athlone for a 2 night break and decided to do the Viking tour up to hudson bay. We had a lovely trip, we were lucky the weather was dry and sunny, but a bit chilly. Listening to the guide talk about the wild life and tell stories about the building of the bridges and surrounding areas was very... More

I've seen the Viking Tour from the shore and from the water, and I think it's a great service to visitors to the town, as well as being a very enjoyable way to see the sights and hear the history of the area!

Had been there at Athlone for work. Colleagues advised one thing to do here other than visiting Sean's Bar and Karma, is the viking tour... I asked them what's extra other than a normal boat ride? Reply was mixed - hence wanted to give it a try one day Reached the castle bay at 10.30, saw a locked 'nicely maintained'... More

We took the boat on a cold rainy day which no doubt affected my score. It was warm in the covered part of the boat but the view through the plastic covering is not as nice as one gets sitting outside.
