My daughter and I were the only ones to show up for the tour, so we got a personal tour with Michael Martin. Even though it was just the two of us, I felt he gave us a nice tour and even gave us a lift up the hill to the cathedral. Our only mistake was that we did the... More

Cobh is a charming town whose architecture has been little affected in the past 100 years. But to truly grasp the town's depth of history, particularly its maritime legacy, this tour is a must.

Hi Ann, thank you for your kind comments. Glad you enjoyed the revelations of the Titanic Trail Guided Walking tour of Cobh. So many people every year just walk through the town themselves without the insight that the tour provides. You now know what they are missing !! Next visit perhaps you will consider our 'about to be launched' Liberty... More

Had a very informative tour of Cobh with Pat, our guide. My daughter and I were joined by 4 from the US. Pat certainly knew the history of both the town and the part it played in the Titanic story. We learned so much in such short time. Our tour ended up at the Doyle pub where we partook of... More

Thank you for your kind comments and recommendation. The historical content of the tour is selected from a broad range of heritage in the town of Cobh. When you're back next time, try out our Titanic Trail Harbour Tour for spectacular views of the town from the harbour. Regards and thanks, Dr Michael Martin More

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour with Dr. Michael Martin. Dr. Martin is a very knowledgable and articulate historian! He really knows the history of Cobh and its role in the story of the Titanic, the Lusitania and of Irish immigration to the "New World." I truly enjoyed every aspect of this brief (about one hour) walk around the town. Although... More

Thank you Chuck for your kind comments. Thousands of people visit Cobh every year and get to marvel at the beautiful architecture and the harbour however only those who have taken the tour get to uncover the vast and fascinating history behind the physical structure. Cobh is a very small town, so much so that we had doubts that this tour could take more half an hour. However, our guide, Trevor, did an excellent job of engaging the tour group (7 persons) with interesting bits of historical information, about the Titanic and more, here and there in town. The result was a walking tour that... More

We changed our trip to go to Cobh because of the 100 anniversary of the Titanic. We especially wanted to do the Titanic Walking Tour. The Titanic Walking Tour was clearly one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. Our guide, Michael Martin, was very knowledgeable and he had clearly had spent a great deal of time understanding the... More

Everything that is said about Michael's knowledge and stories is true. I am writing for those with younger kids. We did a solo tour with Michael in February. He was VERY accomodating and very good with the 9 and 11 year old girls. However, I would say this tour was really over their heads. He goes into such depth with... More

Thank you for your very positive feedback on the content of the tour. My approach to history is that it has to be accurate but never boring !! I always take special care when there are young kids on the walking tour and the reality is that while adults may not see it in their demeanour, children are like sponges... More

Michael Martin is an excellent guide who brings the story of the relationship between Cobh & the Titanic alive. You can book tickets online for 9.50 euros per adult - nor sure why other reviewers paid more? anyway, it is worth it! Lots of interesting anecdotes. Also, Cobh is a pretty town with a nice visitor's center.

Arrived in Cobh on Saturday of the bank holiday. Heard about the Titanic Tour next morning so arrived at the Commodore Hotel without a booking. Trevor arrived promptly at 11 and took us on a very informative tour of Cobh ending at Jack Doyle's pub for a beverage which was included in the price of the tour. I found the... More

I love walking tours. I have been on several from around the world. I booked this tour for 5 adults (aged 30-65) and we were very disappointed. First off- we did not get Michael the tour guide that everyone raved about. I booked online and when I arrived at the Commodore Hotel meeting spot the guide Trevor had no list... More

I was sorry to hear that your tour was interupted by the noise of the helicopters during the search and rescue display on in Cobh that day. After 10 or 15 miutes all the noise died down and the other 27 or so participants really enjoyed the tour and Trevor's delivery of the information. Some of them remarked that the... More
