Highly recommended that you visit this. It was the most beautiful cathedral I've seen, in all of Ireland. They don't even mind you taking pictures, inside. Be sure to say a prayer and light a candle.

Sitting on top of the hill, the cathedral welcomes you miles from the city! It's the first thing you see and the last thing to fade into the distance. We took comfort in knowing when our forefathers and mothers left this great island, that their eyes were most likely fixated on this beautiful church!
We visited in April in a Force 10 wind, and with the steep climb, wondered whether it would be worth it? It was, and the views over the town are terrific. The cathedral is a nice building in itself, out and inside. but the location is unique. located on a hillside which finishes 80m below in the sea, the cathedral courtyard offers a unique view over the port of Cobh and the natural Cork harbour. The setting makes it a unique and very enjoyable experience
This is a beautiful cathedral located on top the hill with sweeping views of the harbor. The cathedral still a full working church with several weekly mass services for visitors and locals alike. The grandeur when you are inside is awe-inspiring.
Delightful Pugin designed building in the historic town of Cobh-last port of call for the il fated Titanic.
The cathedral cannot compete with Burge's St Finbarre's in Cork City but nonetheless is a striking example of neo-Gothic architecture.
Beautiful chiming bells can be heard throughout the town. It is as beautiful outside as well as inside. A small shoppe on site is available for religious items like medals, rosary beads, books etc. The spires of St Colman's can be seen from most places in this pretty seaside town. It seems to 'oversee' all this going on in Cobh.

" If the building outlasts the slate,...
