My wife and went to Kinsale looking for the Don & Barry Walking tour. We stopped a young man to ask directions and it happened to be Barry. Our morning just got better from that point. Unfortunately (for Barry) or fortunately (for us) we were the only members of the tour on that morning. We got a very personalized tour... More

This is one of my top faves on my recent trip. Don is passionate and knowledgeable about Kinsale and history in general, and a very charming and courteous fellow.

Barry gave us the tour and he showed us a colorful history of Kinsale. Starting with the formation of the town to the sinking of the Lusitainia. We walked through downtown and he described the architecture and the townspeople. This is a must tour!

Barry did a great job of bringing old Kinsale to life and pointing out attractions that we should make time to visit after our tour (like the museum, which only happened to be opened that day because it was the 50th? anniversary of the sinking of the Lusitania).

Four of us took Barry's tour while traveling through Kinsale in May. This is a delightful tour that was very enjoyable and very informative. Barry is very charming. We first heard about the tour through the Rick Steves' book and totally agree with Rick that it's something you shouldn't miss. Between this tour and staying at The Olde Bakery B&B... More

I got into town at 0930 and caught most of Don and Barry's stroll. We returned to the TI just in time for Dermot's 1030 guide, so we decided to do that one also. They are both excellent, and, even though there was a bit of information overlap, I'm glad we did both.

This is a don't miss activity. Funny and informative - a great way to spend part of the day. Nice to have the option of the 0915 or 1115 tour. Another guide does a tour at 1030.

As a family traveling through Kinsale as a part of our CIE Tour of Ireland, we were delighted to spend an hour or two with Barry learning the vast history of this small harbor town. Barry kept our entire group on edge with information, humor and wit and answering any questions posed by the group. It was a bit dreary... More

Our tour guide, Don, was funny, engaging, and very informative. If only our history teachers could've been so interesting! We walked around Kinsale learning local, national and global history and were fascinated by all of it. I think our tour lasted around 1.5 hours and it really felt like about 30 minutes-we were hungry for more! Which I guess is... More

Barry is the perfect guide! His charm and knowledge keep all engaged throughout the entire tour, and we couldn't be happier. We were a group of three (late 20's early 30's) and this was the favorite part of our visit. I don't think it would have been possible to appreciate the town as much as we did without the tour....
