Ruins of church built in 12th century. On the grounds are famine graves marked with just stones. Also a sundial, contract stone which has a hole in it where each person put their finger to seal a contract, and Ogham stone, the earliest Irish writing. Grounds are serene and beautiful. More

We had just watched the short film at the Gallarus Oratory, which told about this site. See the film first, then look for the sundial and try to imagine which tomb belongs to the saint. Don't miss the heads in the design of the doorways. More

What a beautiful ruin and spot, and most interesting to us was to see grave stones from not many years ago. More

This was a really neat church and grounds. If you are touring around the Dingle Peninsula, this is a must see. The church itself is in ruins and has an interesting mix of roman and irish structural influences. There is an ogham stone and an old sun dial in the front of the church that are both very interesting. More

My teenage son and I stayed in Dingle and did a short part of the 'Saint's Walk' uphill from here after looking around the grounds of the church. It is a short drive from Gallarus Oratory and easy to find with a good OS map. Well worth a look and great views from the hilltop on a dry day. More

We spent time roaming in the churchyard at the Kilmalkedar Church; the ancient grave stones, the Ogham stone, the sundial, all gave such a flavor of the history of the place! More
