Interesting and worth the walk. Nothing to compare with Stonehenge or Avebury, but gives you a good comparison for the type of circles that were more common
If you are a stone circle junkie like me, you will LOVE this place. Just on the edge of town, I was blown away by the grounds, the flowers, the overall experience of this place. My husband were there just at dusk with no one around. It was amazing.....

visited the site but found it closed just as well as the rain was horizontal. however followed the road marked priests leap and this went over the mountain which was fabulous even in the rain
The stone circle is just outside of Kenmare, within walking distance of the central park. Follow the signs to find the circle, which is a lovely example of Neolithic stone work. Ununsual small outcrop which was difficult to find and poorly signposted - had to ask locals
The stone circle is situated just outside the town, beside a quarry. There is a big hedge around it which keeps it secluded. It is a fine circle, but, in my view, does not have the sense of history and spirituality that you find at others such as Lough Gur. Despite that it is worth visiting

I sought out stone circles wherever I could...this particular one was fantastic. I stood in the center and had the most amazing feeling. I just felt like I was home.
