This is indeed a very good place near mysore. But the dam was really more marvelous,glittering and a wonderful tourist spot once upon the time. many bollywood movies of 60's and 70's were shot around brindavan gardens in krs dam. unfortunately it has lost it's value in recent years due to poor maintenance.

Interesting location turns spectacular around 7 PM (or dark) as it turns into a light show. Bring mosquito repellent and don't pay the extra "camera fee".

The dam built by Sir. M. Visweshvaraiah in 1924 on the river Cauvery. The dam is very strong and was bult be surki, mixture of limestone, brick powder, cow dung, egg etc and no cement was used. Even today it is so strong compared to many modern buildings.

It is the Brindavan gardens that makes KR Dam more meaningful.The dam in itself cannot be accssed due to security concerns.It is the lake and the gardens that are worth the visit.The musical fountains in the evening are a great attraction.

Krishnarajasagara ( KRS dam) is one of the world famous tourist attracations in karnataka. Its built across the path of river kaveri.
Brindavan gardens is a beautiful n very large garden with lots of fountains , most famous being the musical fountain.
