Well worth a visit, very picturesque with stunning views from the top. Bring your walking shoes and make sure you have a good camera!

Maginificent structure that is still used for weddings even though it is over 1000 years old. The gift shop is great, too, ---could have spent a whole day there but it was a perfect excursion offered by Royal Carribean.

It is amazing when you are approaching to the Abbey! This sight is breathtaking. And than when you come to entrance streets and start to climb stairs and narrow passages, it starts to be mysterious. The whole ambient forces you to return some centuries back to try to imagine life in that time. It is realy amazing. I will also... More

We came here knowing very little about it. We came by bus from Tours terminal. The age, the beauty is unreal. This is an active monastery. So there may be a service. Many many steps. No lifts. Strollers are tried, but they are bushed at the top. Lots and lots of people. But after you top the steps they really thin... More

The trip to see the Abbey was a highlight for us. The first glimpse is a spectacle rising above the farm fields. It is definitely for the fit as it has many stairs and narrow passages to climb but is well worth it. The car parking is a well oiled machine and a ten minutes walk to the efficient shuttle... More

We have been visiting the Normandy area and were dying to see this spot. It is unbelievable. So much to see. What we didn't like was the parking and getting to it. You can walk, which it says takes 45 minutes or there are shuttles which says 10 minute ride. The problem is the walk to the shuttle is long.... More

Chemins organises variety of walks to Mont St Michele and in the area. We've booked shell fish hunt, which was a good fun. The group consisting of mostly French families, many with young kids, ( good cultural immersion) was lead by an experienced bi- lingual guide. We basically walked to a few spots where we dug sand for shell fish.... More

All I can say is WOW ! ! I don't do well with stairs so this trip was a challenge... but I made it to the top...one flight of stairs at a time... the history and archecture are amazing... you can spend hours just wandering around... we had a car for this leg of our trip, but parking was not... What a place this is. Take Hogwarts and mix it into Lord of The Rings. However its let down by the addition of huge numbers of people - most are in large groups which dominate and jam the tiny streets, and in particular, parts of the Abbey. Our B&B host advised that in-season circa 15,000 a day visit. The car... More
