One afther another, green and rocky mountainsp lunge dramatically into the mediterranean blue sea. The famouse Amalfi Coast road clings to the mountainsides revealing a succession of picturebook wiews each seemingly more stunning than the one before. Not so many years ago much of this coast was only accessible by boat. Now it is a fashionable resort area which retains the charm of past times. « less

Do not settle with spiaggia Grande. Fornillo is definitely better! Especially the small beach secluded in the left end of the beach. I spent a whole afternoon there sunbathing alone, and later a lady with two dogs came to swim, and still later some local people came to play ball. Very informal, very secluded, very tranquil. More

Less touristy, and still beautiful. Actually. Think I preferred this one. And just a short walk from the main beach. There's 500 steps up to the top of town as well, but you don't have to take these, you can walk around the coast from the main beach to get there. Cute restaurant as well. More

Although we didn't swim (the water was a but too cold) we enjoyed a warm day out on this beach last week. Renting the beach chairs for 5 euro each is a must though because it is a bit too rocky to just lay on a towel. Less crowded than the main beach, but the walk to the main beach... More

We preferred this beach over Spiaggia Grande. Still rocky, but a nice little walk to a smaller and more intimate beach. More

We wanted to enjoy some quiet time and relax on the beach so we decided to check out Spiaggia del Fornillo. It is just a quick walk over the cliff along a very easy path. The beach was peaceful with very few people, yet it had all of the amenities of Spiaggia Grande. There were beach bars with full menus... More
