Huge beach is the first thing you see when you arrive, with its bright umbrellas and not many people on it. Renting chairs is expensive and there's no privacy, we preferred Spiaggia del Fornillo and really Arienzo, reachable by water taxi, was the best. Small, intimate, quiet.

Great place to catch some rays in a beautiful setting, but probably not ideal for wading. There are many restaurants and cute shops along the beach which is also an attraction. Positano is just so beautiful!

I had a lovely time at the beach, please don't get me wrong, but this was DESPITE afew things.
The beaches are black and not especially clean, and I am used to clean white sand. I was surprised to see that the beach has a blue flag, as it is nowhere near the condition of the last blue flag beaches...

You shouldn't ask an Australian to review an Italian beach. It's grey, pebbley, and you have to buy space on the beach. It wasn't hot when I was there, so resisted the temptation.

Enjoyed the beach of dark stone... be careful when swimming (in October) as there were so jellyfish there!

There are great restorantes all along the beach prominade. You can rent chaisses and umbrellas in one area or bring a blanket for the other area. Beware: the black beach get extremely hot in...

The beach itself is not the best I've ever seen. There is not sand at all, there is only pebbles.Water is clear, warm and have a beautiful turquoise colour. There are two sections:the left part looking towards sea is with paid acces, and offers sunloungers, umbrellas and change cabin;the right part, smaller,is the free acces part, with no facilities provided. This part is a little crowded, but not excessive.In...

There is a section roped off for residents of positano who dont have to pay and another huge section for those who want to purchase chairs. They charge by "person" not by chair, which is slightly annoying. The "free" part is around the area where the boats come in and out. The beach and water however were beautiful.
