There's a reason why this place is rated so highly and it's unanimous. What a gorgeous vineyard in Chianti - and we spent a wonderful day taking Rita's cooking class. She doesn't speak any English, and it was tough at times to understand because Silvano was hosting lunches and wine tastings throughout the day (the translator was sick) - but... More

There are not enough words to describe the wonderful experience you will have at this privately owned organic vineyard and farm. If you are looking for an intimate and informative day in the Chianti region then this is your destination of choice. Beyond the wonderful view and the tranquility of its location, the owner captures your attention by giving his... More

My time at Casanova was wonderful! Silvano and his staff are very friendly and full of knowledge. The 30 year old Balsamic they make is to die for! The presentation of their products and the food they are paired with blew me away. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves wine and even to those who are just... More

What an amazing experience. We are a mother and two daughters and were treated to a private cooking class. Rita and Silvano make you feel like a part of their family as soon as you meet them. Silvano invited us into their home and made us coffee while we were waiting for our class to begin. We spent the bulk... More

We had a road trip in Chianti region and Tenuta Casanova came out as our top destination. We were brought to the wine cellar and introduced the steps in making wine and balsamic vinegar. We tasted their wines and last had a sumptous lunch. The organic food was produced using the farm produces. They are just awesome! The Balsamic Vinegar... More

We had arranged a private tour of some wineries in Chianti, and this was one of them. Silvano the owner is extremely charismatic. He took us on a tour of his organic winery, and showed us the process of making balsamic vinegar. He explained to us how he hunts for truffles with his dog. Him and his wife prepared a... More

While this is the name of a wonderful wine made by Silvano, it also sums up the day we spent with him and his wife Rita for their cooking class. He picked us up at our hotel close by and began the story of his life and his love of farming. We were really hyped up when we arrived at... More

My son and I visited Florence and Rome for 10 days after Christmas 2012. While those cities were spectacular, our favorite part of the stay was our visit to Tenuta Casanova! The facility and countryside where beautiful. Silvano's tour and his obvious love of what he does made olive oil, wine and balsamic vinegar production a fascinating hour. The tasting... More

A DUO must play together,as they do.Rita is sweet&shy.Silvano loves the stage,in a good interpretation. We've loved their cooking class.the place is perfect, everything goes in a very friendly place. Silvano found in the woods a cinghale(wild boar) she was 2/3 months old and motherless. She was treated by him(a vet, actually)and stayed with them.now she is a 350kg but thinking she is a... More

Can't say enough good things about our afternoon/evening with Silvano and Rita at their beautiful estate. Azienda Agricola Casanova was just a short scenic drive from our Siena hotel-got to stop in quaint Castellina in Chianti for lunch on the way. From the moment we arrived, Silvano was a warm and gracious host. We were able to taste their balsamic... More
