With over two thousand creatures, we have more animals than anyone else in the South West. These include: crocodiles, snakes, lions, tigers, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, lemurs, meerkats, orang utans...the list is endless! We also have indoor play areas, the Jungle Express train and a lakeside restaurant. If you wish, we also offer special feeding experiences with certain animals, e.g. meerkats, giraffes, giant tortoises, etc. Paignton Zoo is a member of the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums. « less

Paignton Zoo Environmental Park specialises in protecting rare species and new babies are being born there on a regular basis. It is a spacious and beautiful area where the animals are kept in a natural-looking habitat, and feeding times are a treat for children to watch. There are picnic and play areas, and a mini train for those who cannot... More

It had been a few years since we had visited Paignton Zoo and we were really pleased to say it's better than ever! New exhibits and enclosures have been added, we had a great day out.

Weather was perfect to visit the gorgeous animals, we took our food with us and hit the road. We spent few hours discovering the zoo as it is very big, many animals and birds only a step away, it was very exciting . The Flamingo birds and the Gorillas impressed me much. The lions were chilling and the tiger looked... More

With a varied environment from flat to hilly this really is a typical Devonish attraction. Get close to alligators in the original housing of these animals, watch the risky antics of the v large Baboon troup, and bounce over the lemur bridge. on our latest visit we were enthralled over the growing four lion cubs and were delighted to see... We went to the zoo last weekend for a change and found the cost very reasonable 11.70 each for students and armed forces. The park is on a bit of a hill but no where as steep as Edinburgh zoo. Beautiful woodlands surround the park and plenty to see animal wise. We saw some gorgeous toucans that listen to you... More

Well worth a visit - but best take your own food - the various cafes etc. are very old fashioned about food quality well and portion control.

Went to Paignton zoo as a small group of adults and despite not having children it was still a great day out! We really liked the wide open spaces that the peacocks could roam in and seeing the various animals. However it was a real disgrace to see some parents (and there were quite a few) allowing their children to... More

Paignton Zoo was fabulous as usual. My father in law was able to hire a mobility scooter which worked really well for us. There aren't many places which can entertain two people in their 80's and 2 teenagers A wonderful day for the whole family.
