We took a couple of cruises while in the Lake District on Windermere - the first we boarded at Lakeside and hopped off at Ambleside. Here we went for a walk just for an hour or so and got the return boat back to Lakeside. The second cruise on our last day was from Lakeside again but this time we... More

We took the boat, MV Tern up from Lakeside to Bowness, had an hour wandering around Bowness and then got the same boat back down to Lakeside. It is a very comfortable boat with plenty of inside and outside seating. There is a refreshment centre on boat serving snacks, soft drinks, coffee and tea and alcohol. The trip was about... More

We took the walk and cruise from Brockhole. A lovely little boat to Ambleside where we had twenty minutes to have a coffee. Then to Wray Castle, it's worth the walk up the hill to see the castle. You do not have to double back just carry on round and follow lake path. It's an easy walk relatively flat and... More

A nice selection of routes depending on what you want, and what your group is made up of. We went on a Friday and got an offer day run around ticket, which took us up and down the lake, and round the islands. There were also inclusive tickets which gave you reduced rates on a steam railway, around an aquarium,... More

Sailed from Ambleside to Lakeside on one of the bigger boats on a lovely sunny day. Excellent views from anywhere in the boat, licensed bar, tea/coffee and toilets- what more can a tourist ask for- all at reasonable prices

Many thanks for your lovely review of our attraction & our sister attraction, the Lakeland Motor Museum. The combined ticket with the added bonus of the shuttle bus is a great, fun-filled, car-free day out for families, couples & even non-petrolheads! and as you so rightly said, good cafe! More

Unfortunately, it was a dull day when we visited Bowness but we decided to go on a short lake cruise. The boat was very spacious & the commentary was interesting. Refreshments were available to purchase on board. We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. Make sure you see the swans & other birdlife on the shore. Children love to feed them.

Many thanks for your lovely review of our attraction. You might have read in previous reviews about how some of our passengers were lucky enough to see an otter on their cruise. It is a wonderful place for wildlife spotting! More
