This small local museum, in a side street off the High Street, offers well-presented exhibitions of mostly local artists often with a coastal theme. Children enjoy getting involved in various 'actions' such as a game of fishing. The shop in the foyer has a varied choice of New Forest related items for sale. The staff are very pleasant and helpful... More

Small museum which has put a lot of thought into hands on experiences for younger children with pull out 'touch and feel' drawers, fishing game and sit on boat in 'sea' area, weighing in the Victorian kitchen area etc. Good all round museum as something for everyone. Lovely staff who made us feel very welcome.

My wife and myself were visiting Lymington for the first time when we found this lovely little museum and art gallery down a street (New Street) off of the High Street, It is not huge but has an intimate feel about it. The museum itself provides an account of the local history of Lymington and the surrounding New Forest from... More

Great for a "small town" museum with fantastic art exhibitions, historical re-enactments and very enthusiastic followers. Friendly and accommodating people support group.

This is a great place to take your grandchildren on a rainy day. It has very clean toilets and seems to have been designed with bored children in mind. It is not free but the entry cost is only £3 for OAP's and children are less. There are lots of interactive exhibs to amuse the kids and several chances for... More

The museum is an absolute hidden gem in Lymington! It has plenty of interactive & hands on exhibits to please my young nephew & niece but interesting older artifacts to engage my elderly parents with reminiscences of war time & times gone by. The pictures in the Art Gallery when we visited were lovely & I understand that there are... More

This museum is well worth a visit, lots for children to do, hands on exhibits in the museum with plenty to keep the children amused. The Art has an impressive programme of exhibitions from local history exhibitions to nationally aclaimed art exhibitions. From their 'Whats On 2012' guide I've spotted that there is going to be an exhibition of works... More
