The wife and I opted for a do it yourself tour of the Hardanger Fjord after discovering that the Norway in a Nutshell tour covered ground we have travelled prevously. Took the ferry from Bergen to Rosendale (Nkr350) the local bus (#760, Nkr94)) Rosendale to Odda and bus (#930, Nkr303) from Odda back to Bergen. Takes a bit of planning... More

Nice Fjord that you can drive to and around by car. Watch the weather though - in May on the same day we had sunshine, rain and snow! It rains a lot here, and for my money the Swiss lakes are a better place to visit.

We were driving through the hardanger touristic route during one day. It is, in fact, an absolutely breathtaking view. Every kilometer you drive you find something more beautiful than what you had seen. This is totally recommended. However... the road is quite narrow (two cars in parallel must drive quite slow to pass each other), and driving there during a... More

Great place to see. I went in the winter so it was very cold and everything was frozen. Even though it was worth. If you're going during summer it might be much more beautiful.

The tour was rushed, most of the time on the boat on a bus. When we landed at Eidfjord, we were pressured into buying a trip to the Nature Centre and the Waterfall. That was a real rip off. The only highlight of the Centre was the video showing of the Hardangerjord. We were then driven to see the waterfall,... More

We loved our Norway in a Nutshell train/bus tour we took from Bergen...and the Fjords of course were the reason for going. We weren't disappointed!

We decided that whilst in Norway we had to go on a fjord trip. For two people it cost 156 GBP and the scenery was lovely. however, due to weather it was impossible to sit outside to really get a view of the mountains, snow etc; it was just too cold. The boat was really well kitted out though with... More

We went off season - when we got to Eidfjord there was not much to do. All of the eateries except one rather poor quality fast-food joint were closed. I guess during summer season this is a great place to go, but off-season I'd think about it first.

We took a fjord tour from Bergen and stopped off for a day in Lufthus, a day in Kinsarvic, and finished up by visiting Einfjord before returning to Bergen. We love to hike, and did long (6+ hour) hikes each day up the fjords onto the plateau above Lofthus, and up the 4 waterfalls above Kinsavic. Gorgeous. In October with... More
