It takes you just a few minutes to travel from big city life to total quiteness and solitude in the woods. One of Oslo's best qualities.

Could see where might be beautiful if it was snowing or if trees and flowers were blooming (why average review and not poor). But, when we went it was blah and muddy. The snow was mostly melted and the trees were barely budding. Resulting in nothing but yellow grass and brown trees. Not difficult to get to (37 minutes via... More

Nordmarka is an all year experience. During winter you'll find endless kilometers of cross country skiing opportunities. During summer you'll be able to go mountain biking to cozy cafes throughout the woods. Nordmarka is surprisingly close to the city and accesible via subway, tram or bus. Go alone, with friends or with your family.

Just 1 word to say when i left the metro : WOWW! In the winter time, it is so beautiful! The snow, tree and a blue sky attracted many people. I walked whole day in Nordmarka. If people love Norway nature, they also love Nordmarka too! Next winter, I will try ski! So much impressed about it's beautiful!

What a lovely place. Amazing views, good choice of things to do from taking in the views, skiing, walks, sledging hot chocolate and cake at a traditional restaurant and more. An easy trip up the hill on the metro with lots to see. If we return to Oslo we will be back.

A beautiful area to escape the city and enjoy the outdoors. Extremely convenient to get to. The reason why I'd live in Oslo.

It is incredible that such a beautiful natural area is so close to the city and so easy to get to. The T-bane to Frognerseteren takes you up in under 30 minutes with some amazing views on the way. A normal zone 1 ticket, either single of 24 hours will get you up there. Then you have a lovely walk... More

Few other cities of the world can boast outdoors right on their doorstep the way Oslo does. In the wither, it's great for cross-country skiing. In the summer, you can hike, jog or take you bicycle for a ride. Great for all ages, individuals and groups. As the Norwegians say: "Ut på tur, aldri sur!"

Nordmarka is a protected area (rather like a national park) of forest, lakes and hills extending for about 50 kilometres north of the city. The hills rise up to 700 meters+. In the winter there is reliable snow for 3 months or so, up to 4 months in the northern part. There are hundreds of ski trails and a few... More
