Must see in Vienna! Fabulous castle with many tour options. Walk thru the gardens and all the way to the back of gardens to view palace to see grandeur and scale.

Within reasonable walking distance of the city centre, vast expanse of beautiful parkland with avenues of trees and fountains, a variety of great buildings - the palace itself, galleries, organgery, palm house, etc.

The palace is wonderful, and deserve a visit, and the gardens.... you could spend a full day in there. They are huge perfectly maintained and have a free access. You have to pay if you want to visit the funny maze that is very good for children.

We didn't go to the palace itself, but paid full tribute to the park and it's paid exhibitions such as: 1. The Maze - absolutely amasing! %) We are big lovers of such things and we weren't dissapointed. The Mazes seem small yet they manage to get you wander in them for 20-30 minutes! Ther's also a lovely playground for... More

This is a do-not-miss visit to an elegant palace with magnificant rooms and decor. It harkens back to historical times when European kings and queens, their entourage and excesses employed about 20% of the population to maintain a luxurious lifestyle that was in competition with other royal kingdoms of Europe. For an American, it is a blessing to come home... More

This makes a lovely day/half day visit. You can visit just the park - great to just walk round (don't forget to walk to the Gloriette for the view over Vienna - but it isn't worth paying to go to the top). You can then visit as much or as little of the buildings as you want - each has... More

We were both amazed by the scale and size of this palace. We had prebooked our tickets for a set time on the internet and went early and was defnitely a good move as it was already very busy. It is a must to visit when in Vienna!!!

Schonbrunn is very easy to get to by metro. If you have already seen the Hofburg Palace don't spend the money touring the inside which is about the same as the Hofburg palace. Just go visit the VERY IMPRESSIVE garden which is FREE.

Beautiful palace but the gardens and park really make this special and worth entry fee. Recommendation is get there early when they opened. Take U4 and we got there right at a little before 8:30am. We walked right up to the ticket counter bought our ticket and were on our way. Also forget doing a tour. The audio tour is... More
