Nice and quiet for a brief sit down. Another place where you can get a feel for history. You can walk around the site which leads to a few other interesting things Nice and tranquil for a brief sit down. A good historical site but quite small.

We decided at the last minute to visit the Amphitheatre, and thought how wonderful it would be to put on performances there. Think of the revenue it could raise! Come on Paphos make full use of your facilities.
It's gorgeous to sit at the ampitheatre later in the afternoon or early evening when the crowds have gone a little. It's beautiful and a nice chill out spot. I love everything about Paphos though so you'll see a pattern emerging! I don't think you'd spend a massive amount of time here to be honest but is worth ticking off...

An amazing atmosphere and much improved since we first visited, Sit quietly on the banch and let your mind drift- you can hear the crowds

An absolute must. Seek out the performances through the local paper and the TIC. You will no tube disappointed , we saw a performance of Romeo and Juliet which was breathtakingly beautiful against a backdrop of the sea and the sunset.
This is a superb proof of Roman ingenuity. The site is beautifully preserved as part of the Paphos Archaeological Park, and sits beside the light-house.
If you make this visit - and you really should - be sure to experience the astounding accoustics that make it the ideal venue for live performance. Stand on the paving stone in the performance...

Thankfully we got here as the zumba class using the rooms beneath were just finishing and were able to have 5 minutes to look around before they left and had to close the gates. We were expecting something a little older (or more like ruins) but that's our fault for not doing our research properly.
The site it's self is...

We were here in October 2012 for the first time, 10 minutes walk from large car park in Paphos harbour. Venue is not too large but still seast roughly two hundred but easy to view and hear plays from any angle in the outdoor amphitheatre
Dont expect a whole scale site, but what is there is great, well looked after. Personally I like this kind of thing. But in the summer either go early as its gets hot ir later. And take water!! lol
