We entered and paid 10 Euros each for admission. Board showed four floors of exhibition. Ground floor mainly given over to reception, cafe, shop, and cloakroom. We took lift to top meaning to work our way downwards. After leaving top floor we found the two below devoid of anything. So little for so much. Really a waste of time.

Ateneum Museum located at the heart of Helsinki city center. Just across the main railway station. You get to see various paintings from time to time. Must visit for art lover.

I visit here each time I come to Helsinki. The special exhibits are, in themselves, worth a visit. The permanent collection is diverse (older art, modern, European, etc). It has an outstanding collection of Scandinavian art well worth a special trip. The museum cafe has good food and is nice place to stop for a rest stop.
