the architecture, the practicality, the connection between two countries, the efficiency, the view when crossing all in all a wonderful experience
I have tried both train and bus to cross bridge to Sweden. Train drive is fastest - if you are minimum 2 travellers, ask for the orange family ticket, it is nearly half price. I also liked the bus - it was a beautiful view. Bus is also quite chesp, located by Baresso coffee if you take it from Copenhagen... More
We took the train across the Øresund bridge from Copenhagen to Malmö. It has to be one of the best train trips we've been on and that's ranking it up with some stunning journeys through the Alps! If there's more than one of you travelling, it's best value to get an Øresund Familie ticket which costs 284Kr and gets two... More
Actually it is a 'Bridge Tunnel' as opposed to a bridge. Opened in 2000 it has changed the way many people live in this area. Many people live in Malmo and travel to Copenhagen to work or visa-versa. Thirty minutes across by train, very practical for a day trip
Seriously. It's just a bridge. If you are from the San Francisco area (or any place with sufficient sized bridges), it's a bridge. It was interesting to see the windmills in the water, and a capsized boat, but that isn't the bridge so much as things you see from the bridge. We took the train over from Copenhagen to Lund.... More
Take the trip over to Malmo by train. Trains run every 20 minutes from the central station. Best value ticket gets up to 2 adults and 3 children, although you don't need any children for DKK 284, around £17 each. Takes around 40 minutes.
When I grew up in Malmö, it took an hour and a half ferry ride to get to Copenhagen. Today it takes twenty minutes with the train. Granted you could drink inexpensively on the ferry, but it's more fun to explore all the places in Copenhagen. If you are arriving by air the train is located just a short distance... More
Going from Sweden to Denmark using the "Storebelt broen" is an experience. The bridge ends in a tunnel that goes straight for several kilometers before arriving in mainland Denmark. A place where a Ferrari owner really gets to try his car. Enjoy but drive responsible!!!
This is the bridge featured in the Scandinavian Murder Mystery: The Bridge(English translation). Great drive across perfect views and before you know it you are through the tunnel part and in Copenhagen. We wanted to do this drive after watching the series on UK TV, worth the effort and toll. There is no stopping which was a disappointment.
