It is a big place where you can enjoy walking, praying even shopping - they have beautiful things made by nuns - and of course you will see nice icons and - first of all - there also like in all the monasteries in Meteora you feel close to heavens and you are proud for what the humans can do More

This is the one of the Meteora monasteries with the easiest access. It has a great view of Thessaly from it's terrace. It certainly is worth a visit for that if you are near. More

It is one of the few monasteries which can drive all the way to the entrance and this is very helpful if you have small children with you. More

The Monastery of St. Stephen is a lovely convent at Meteora and one of the most accessible sites in these unusual mountains. The Monastery has a parking lot that can accommodate motor coaches and only requires walking across a short bridge from the land mass to the top of the rock on which the convent sits. Best time to visit early in the morning, before the big groups get there. make sure your dress is modest, no shorts for men and long skirts for women and girls with covered sleeves and neck. Nuns welcoming and nice, please respect their home More
