We were really excited to go to Chrissi and after we managed to get there out of season were really disappointed. It was covered in rubbish and the beaches were not good for swimming as they had razor sharp rocks and god knows what else. Also quite a few campers degrading the whole area, overall not worth visiting.

Book a boat ticket day before a journey and remember name of your boat company. You will spend in the boat 45 minutes outward and return. Island is covered with sand. From harbour to the beach it exists a trail and the most people from the boat will go on that side. Beach is wonderful. And sea. I have seen... More

Don't forget to visit this small island just 40 min away form Ierapetra. The sea is excellent and the place magic.

This was by far one of the best days out of my life! Never before have I seen water of this colour, utterly mesmerising! Make sure you bring a snorkel with you it is just too good to miss. On the day that we went the weather was brilliant (read: brutally hot!) and we got terrible sun burn but it... More

Well worth the effort....we drove to Ierapetra and caught the 1230 boat across, a pleasant 50 minute crossing. Being off-season the return boat was at 1700 but four hours was plenty. The taverna on the island had closed but you could buy beer and soft drink, and the food and drink onboard the boat was very reasonable. Both beaches were... More

We had very windy so it was waste of time and money. But in good conditions it can be nice. We had to wait for the boat too long, tha one before left some 5 minutes earlier then scheduled. This is typical for Greeks probably.

We went on a rather windy day (quite common on the South coast of Crete). All boats dock on the south side of the island, which was therefore quite crowded. We then crossed the island (10 min walk) to the north side (the "Golden beach"), which was so exposed to the wind that we couldn't stay, let alone swim. Back... More

All the positive reviews we read about the Nautilos trip to Chrissi Island turned out to be spot on. We can't fault any aspect of the day. Michalis was highly communicative both before we left England and during the trip. Yes, the boat was lovely, the food was great, the crystal clear sea was amazing during the swimming stop. The... This place is really beautiful. As we went there in September, there were not so many tourists. Unfortunately apart from this, I would never recommend it to anyone: there are sharp rocks everywhere around the island in the water: impossible to get in the sea without falling... And when you try to rest on the golden beach, a guy is... More
