The new Acropolis must be up there in the ratings of the great museums of the world, the Metropolitan, the Getty and now this wonderful building which shows off the famous Parthenon sculptures and the frieze (or what there is of it!) in the best possible way. The museum is light and easy to walk around, the signs are clear... More

This museum just opened in the past few years, and has already won awards. It is laid out logically with an easy path to make sure you see everything. The bottom floor is made of glass, revealing ancient ruins being excavated beneath the museum. There is an unbelievable volume of artifacts, considering that the entire museum is dedicated to this... In a country NOT known for its educational museums, the Acropolis Museum is a true gem. Beatifully contructed, inteliigently sequenced, lovingly explained (almost everything is translated into English), it is easily worth 2-4 hours. There are some political overtones; simply overlook them and soak up the vivid history. More

one of the few things that allows me to be proud these days for being Greek is our ACROPOLIS MUSEUM.Not only its unique location, facing directly the Acropolis but both the building, the way the exhibits are placed are unique.Added to all that, the beautiful sunlight that literally bathes the museum almost 300 days/year makes it impossible to resist. Also,... More

I have been to Athens five times, but this was my first visit to the new Acropolis Museum. It is so fresh and contemporary--one of the finest museums in the world. Our group debated on whether it was best to see it AFTER visiting the Acropolis or before. Most thought after was best, but either way it's an experience not... More

A real tribute to the Parthenon! This museum is made up of some rooms with statues and finds around the Acropolis and then the top floor is a vast room surrounded by large glass windows with views of the Acropolis, and a careful placement of many parts of the Parthenon in their original positions as they would have been back...
