You must visit this place when you're traveling to Athens. The view of the city from this place was fantastic. There is a chapel and a restaurant on the top of the hill. To reach this place, you can take the subway to Evangelismos station, and then walk about 500 meters to the north. Take the funicular to reach the... More

Lycabettus hill is a steep rock embraced with a pine tree "green necklace" very near to Kolonaki square and central Athens. At night time the hill is perfectly illuminated. On the top of this hill you easily see Saint George Chapel, a lonely small white guardian with eternal Dragon Slayer (Saint George) as Protector. It is said that Lycabettus was... More

Make a donation at the church and admire the view. You can see all of Athens from the top. My advise is get a taxi to take you up. Even the last bit up to the top is a mean climb. Panoramic pics are great and you can see the sea from here.

A must see for the view. We went at sunset and watched to sun go down. Wonderful view of the city below and the vast surrounding area. Highly recommend it.

We took the teleferik to the top and walk down. There is a beautiful chapel on the top. If you go inside the chapel make sure you are not showing any skin. My daughter and I walked in to light a candle and this old lady pointed at my daughters legs and shook her head pointing her fingars. The hill... More

Taking the underground cable car you find yourself in one of the very few high spots in Athens that will give a spectacular view of the whole city. On a clean, windy day you can see al the way to the sea. The restaurant on top of the hill is very good (although expensive). Worth visiting also in the evening

There is a café we went to that overlooks the gorgeous city, right across from us at night was the Acropolis lit up in Pink. It was breathtaking- the sky was pitch black, the stars were so bright. I couldn't take a photo to post here that would do it justice. ANYONE going to Athens if you don't see this... More

Don't come here for the sunrise or the sunset or the typical Greek vacation view. You'll be better off at the islands (personal recommendations would be Chora, Mykonos and Oia, Santorini) for those. Instead, come here to see the amazing white, sparkling view of almost the entirety of Athens as this is the highest peak in the city. You can... More
