The walk here is steep and the climbs quite challenging but well worth the effort. The castle is a ruin with lots of steps and great views.

I loved this place. Where else can you see ramparts and towers from the 11th Century still intact over a hillside? Inspired the imagination.

The only remaining of the castle are the walls where you can enjoy a beautiful walk with panoramic views over Sintra and the ocean as well as views on the la Pena castle. If you have time go for it, you will love the walk on the walls and the views from the towers.

Well restored and will be even better soon. Strenuous walk with low inside walls (i.e. not kid friendly, but we didn't take our 4 and 2 year olds). Really worth a visit if you like old castles. This is a REAL castle. One that was built for purpose, and obviously built to last. The views (naturally) are exceptional. From the coast to Lisbon, and all points in between. You need reasonable fitness to do this properly. Lots of climbing and skinny parapets. I think it was 7E to get in. Well worth it. One tip. Bring water!

Step back into time and visit the Moor's Castle. Over the top incredible! You feel transported to a different time and place. One of the most beautiful and mystical places we have ever seen!!!
