We were wandering around the lake area taking loads of photos from every angle. It is so peaceful. Swans everywhere to enhance your photos. Take a picnic lunch and sit on a rug and enjoy
perfect romantic destination further from the crowd of tourists, one of the most beautiful places i've ever seen
Minnewater was just down the road from our hotel so we went by it on a number of occasions. It is at the end of one of the canals and has many resident swans and ducks. By the side of it is where the horse an carriage rides start.
We were lucky in that autumn was as late here in Belgium as it was at home and we caught the best of the colours on an otherwise grey and misty day. Perhaps not worth a visit entirely on its own merits but with the Beguinage one side and the canal the other, there's plenty else to see.
I live right at the end (the horse fountain) of this sometimes magical place. It's not always 'ooh' and 'aah' beautiful of course. Even though it keeps its charm all the year around, sometimes the Minnewater swan area, the lake with the castle and the park behind the castle are truly magical. You just have to be a little lucky.... More
you have to visit this area, it is so pretty and peaceful, lots of swans everywhere and beautiful reflections in the still water
Bit out of town but was a beautiful autumn day so we took a walk over to the bridge where, according to legend, if a couple crosses together they will stay together. Only a 20 minute trip then a walk back into town via some random wild chickens. Beautiful, definitely take a look if you're in Bruges.
We had been told about the park and made a walk to it from the centre, not very far at all 10-15 minute walk. It took us a little while to find our bearings, but once done it was a very pleasant stroll with some good picture opportunities.
