A lovely community of simple white buildings. It was clear that we had just missed seeing daffodils in bloom in the large courtyard; that would have been really lovely. It is also kind of fun to see elderly nuns in their black and white habits, crossing the yard while chattering on their cell phones. More

It's just over the bridge from the Love Lake where the swans live, and a world away from the tour groups and commercialism of Bruges. Well worth a QUIET walk around the courtyard. We were fortunate to be there during Vespers and it was like hearing angels sing. Very moving. More

The history of this is very interesting and walking around in silence gave a great contrast to busy centre of Bruges markets and restaurants. It is a shame that some people can't seem to keep quiet though and spoil it for others More

one has to wonder around to see this place as you can't see it if you walk only in the center of Brugges. But really worth it More

This home for old aged pious people in the middle ages is very well kept and beautiful in aspect. White small houses surround a lawn with tall straight trees planted at regular intervals. There are some benedictine nuns living there today and a church where they hold sermons. More

We loved the house museum. It gave a look at actual life of the times. The church also was a treat - so serene. We were fortunate that a choir sang two pieces while we were there. More

Worth a walk around to experience the peace and quiet of this lovely little corner of Bruges (once all the noisy school parties, who don't seem to take any notice of the "Silence Please" signs, have moved on). It's a nice little area this, just behind the De Halve Maan Brewery and next to Minnewater Park and the horse feed... More
