So I expected a lot more than I got, but what I did get I thoroughly enjoyed! The iceskating rink was awesome & cheap, only €6 including skate hire! There are 2 parts to the markets, so see both. The market was quite good especially since we arrived during Ice Magic....this was great for the kids. Brugges itself is a wonderful city, a pleasant welcome to Belgium

Its a bit unfair to review the market a Christmas market as it just few stalls selling Chritmas related mass produced tat. I don't think Bruges sells itself on this. I expected the markets to be better, more entertaining and bigger. I'd say the ones in England were fair better. Saying that the food and drink was reasonably priced (gifts are cheaper in the supermarkets), the markets added to the Christmas feel and beauty of Bruges but we preferred the cafes and bars.

My wife has been to some German Christmas markets and have enjoyed them. Therefore we decided to tie out long awaited visit to Brugge when their market was on.
