I make it a point to visit significant religious sites in the in the cities to which I travel. I consider they are incredibly relevant to a city not only from a religious but from an historical viewpoint. The Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp is a stunning example of the best of the best. From its amazing gothic architecture... More

The cathedral is full of light and elegance with three superb paintings by Rubens, Antwerp's native son. While the place itself gives rise to a feeling of calm and well being, the addition of thirty great paintings from the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp and from the Mauritishuis in the Hague added a special and unexpected treat to... One of the nicest cathedral in Belgium. The tower of the cathedral is really nice. You can go inside without any fees. It will take some time to see the whole cathedral.

The cathedral dominates Antwerp's skyline and its chimes are often ringing out over the city. They are restoring to brilliant white (due to be complete in 2015) which closes off some small areas but doesn't impact too much on the experience. There is a special exhibition that has brought back into the cathedral many of the different altar pieces that... More

Lovely huge gothic church, centrally located. Altar is beautiful and of course the immense paintings by Rubens are unforgettable. Small admission, but well worth the price. I especially liked the chapel in honor of St. Anthony and the statue of St. Norbert.

The highlight of this visit was to see the Rubens paintings which had been recently been put back in the Cathedral. Very crowded but to be expected, worth a visit when in Antwerp.

We didn't go in as there was a fee. The man in the gift shop was helpful (no fee to go in there). Nice coffee shops nearby though.

This should be a must see on everyone's list. Inside the cathedral is a beautiful mixture of wood crafting, paintings, and stained glass which encompass hundreds of years of artistic history. The square around the cathedral is a vibrant marketplace as well.
