I agree with the other reviewers here - this is a fantastic museum. I spent three enjoyable hours here and did not even go to the indoor museum area - it was too nice a day to spend inside. You will find an almost endless supply of displays that help tell the story of the Zuider Zee. More

The Zuiderzee Museum was a beautiful open air village that showed off the history of the region near Hoorn and Enkhuizen. If you want to see historic old Netherlands there is no better place. An easy train ride from Amsterdam takes you to Enkhuizen, a picturesque fishing village, where the museum is.
