A perfect location to visit amidst the Swiss Alps during summers. A planned trip enables the right booking in advance and also proves to be economical. A lot of places of stay to choose from right from expensive hotels, apartments, chalets and hostels at the heart of Interlaken. However staying near Interlaken Ost (east) is better if one is travelling to... More

This a a wonderful town in its own right, lovely buildings, pretty squares, charming coffee houses and restaurants etc but it is all that surrounds the town that makes it the wonderful tourist hub that it is! Nestled, as it's name suggests between 2 lakes with wonderfully relaxing cruises available on both including dinner cruises on Lake Thun. Positioned in... More

Lovely little town embraced by mountains and lakes. It's totally a place to sit back and relax. Wake up seeing the view of Jungfraujoch, breathe the fresh air, take your time to stroll along the canal from west to east side of the town, sit down to greet with the swans.. That's what you have to do here! And there... More

Interlaken is a brilliant base for seeing the quintisential Switzerland. With it's rolling meadows and soaring, snow covered mountains and, most of all, it's superb transport system, Switzerland is the place to visit at any time of the year - even between summer and winter seasons. We found that in the late Autumn some cable cars and chair lifts are... More

We enjoyed our boat ride on lake Brienz from Interlaken (exit the Interlaken East train station and walk towards the river) to Brienz. It was about 1.5 hrs. with options to stop at a few other small towns along the way. It is free for those with a Eurail Global Pass. You can also have table service meals/drinks on board.... More

The journey to the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe, at 3454 metres Europe’s highest altitude railway station, is the highlight of every visit to Switzerland. It offers visitors a high-Alpine wonderworld of ice, snow and rock, which can be marvelled at from vantage terraces, the Aletsch Glacier or in the Ice Palace. On clear days, views extend as far as... We are a family of four. We were hesitated if we should buy swiss pass or take a rental car. Knowing we would be staying 3 nights in Interlaken and 2 nights in Zermatt for a 2 weeks trips, we believed it should be cheaper by renting a car since not much travelling involved. Besides, most hotel/hostel in town .provide... More

Nice view. Pleasant and peaceful. Weather was unstable so wasn't able to visit Jungfraujoch. Enjoyed the train rides and cable car rides to visit villages and towns in the area.
