it is not clear why so few people travel with Mini Metro when buses are full, ride slowly and are not comfy at all. Mini metro is the funniest way to travel with children as well: it reminds an amusement park or a fantome line 14 in Paris! As mini metro is fully automatic (there is no driver), there is... More

Perugia’s main train station, Stazione Fontivegge, is a very long way from the city centre. There is no way you would wish or want to walk it, with or without luggage. Take the convenient minimetro, from left of the train station, ticket price 1.50 euros, same as the bus. Board one of the cars, arriving every few mins, & avoid... More

This is so cool! It feels like an amusement ride but is really a bona fide way to go up and down the steep incline to access the centre of Perugia. More

This is the best way to get into Perugia centro. Leave the car in the park beside the Metro. You DO NOT want to take a car into the centro as there are many restricted streets and you will get a hefty fine. Purchase a one-way ticket (you will need to do the same to return as there is no... More

Not easy to find, but yes, it does exist: reminiscent of a 1960s science fiction episode (Arthur C Clark's moon monorail comes close) though for locals, it does also meet an urgent need (commuting from a modern suburb without polluting the city). As it's hardly expensive, even a fun trip will make your day, as it did ours, culminating a... More

For a fun way to get from the train station to the city center, try Perugia's mini metro. (From the train station, go out the back by Binario 1, turn right, and follow the sidewalk to the station. Mini cars run up the hillside tracks and always seem to be waiting or you when you get to the gate. Only... More
