It is amazing to see the foundation of the Cathedral which was built upon the baptistry. They have done an amazing job of preserving and restoring the original structure and art. This is a wonderful museum.
The Baptistry was lovely, but we had the audio guide and were a bit confused about what we were supposed to be looking at. If you only have time for 2 things, see the cathedral and museum and skip this. But if you have time, it's worth a look.
Many tourists might just visit the duomo and miss the baptistery. This would be a mistake! Not only is it less crowded...it is gorgeous! Something unique...mirrors to reflect the artwork so your neck can take a break!
This was a very neat little one room quick stop filled with incredible art, frescoes, sculpture and floor mosaics. But take your time and take it all in. For the small amount of time it will take it is very much worth it.
