The Palatina Gallery is my '1st place' attraction in Florence. The gallery is one of the huge number of separate attractions residing in the huge, rather ugly, monolithic structure of the Pitti Palace - BUT that imposing/unattractive nature of the Palace belies the beautiful treasures that lie within... I am compiling an extensive Trip Advisor 'Trip List' for my recent... More

Its a big place and we didn't give ourselves enough time. We saw great art but didn't get to see the gardens, which we'd heard we're beautiful. More

When you have to plan to visit a museum with kids you have to think what they can do that is not bored for them. This palace has some ok museum parts but the huge garden that they have on the back is amazing for the kids to run, to take some sun and to relax. More

Palazzo Pitti is full of painings and art. However, the visitor per painting ratio is not close to where it is at the uffizii. With the more "intimate" athmosphere the experience is much nicer. So you can admire the pictures from Raphael, Boticelli , Rubens and so many more , much better. The staff was very friendly and told us... More

Great place to visit. I have seen people say that it is not worth visiting but I thought it was wonderful. Several different art galleries in one. Art crammed onto the walls - so much to look at. Also great to see the art in a palazzo as opposed to in an art gallery. The furnishings, ceiling frescoes and wall... More

Three different museums in one. Each has its own merits. Some beautiful paintings and ceilings. Best Virgin and Child (Raphaels) I have seen so far. Well worth a visit. More

You can expect to see a lot of art, mostly paintings. The Palace is a mix of various museums (modern art, old art, silver art...) You need to walk a lot to see all the rooms and you can feel a little tired after see everything because all rooms have so many paintings (in my opinion too much for paying... More

Palazzo Pitti was an unexpected highlight of my Florentine holiday - not only were fine paintings by Canaletto, Raphael, Botticelli and Veronese on display, but the ornately-furnished rooms highlighted the sumptous lifestyle enjoyed by the royal houses of Medici, Hapsburg and Savoy over the centuries. Afterwards, a walk in Boboli Gardens proved a relaxing antidote to the cultural overdose, a... More
