After climbing the duomo, the campanile cannot compare. The view would have been amazing if not for the wire fence they have up that totally obstructs a clear view and ruins any photo you want to take. If you had to choose between the duomo and the campanile, choose the campanile. I did both, but there's no reason to climb... More

Lots of steps. Narrow steps. My pal and are in pretty good shape middle aged types, but we took it easy and did not rush and it was fine to go up. The views are great, and there are several places you can stop and look on your way to the very top. We got some great photos of Florence.

The views from the bell tower are gorgeous and so worth the climb! It is a little narrow in the stairway, but we had no problem getting up and down and were very glad we did.

If you don't mind a few steps, this can give you a great look at the Duomo and best of all, it is included on the Firenze Card which is 50 Euros but well worth the money!

a beautiful, marble sheathed campanile in the middle of this historic city. Happily bells are subdued over night so no need to worry about your sleep!

When you are in Florence it is a must to see the city from the top; either from the Dome, Bobola Gardens or Giotto Bell Tower; We arrived to Florence in the afternoon. We couldn't climb the dome: it is open until 5PM, so we did the Bell Tower which is open until 7PM. What a great view in the... More

Climbing the 414 steps to the top of the tower was the first thing that we did when we arrived in Florence, at first it was intimidating, but the more we climbed the more we loved it. The view kept getting better along the way. When we arrived at the top the pain was soon forgotten. It was so beautiful... More

Great views. No line, unlike the Dome. Just keep looking for the stairs up until you are on the roof! Most people do not make it that far, but the views are worth it. I would not advise it for those who are claustrophobic as the narrow stairs are shared by those going up and those going down. And some... More

We didn't get to climb up the tower but still have to admit that it's amazing. I took lots of photo of the tower at different time and all look amazing. I wouldn't miss it next time I am in Florence! See my photos and please vote for me if you find this review helpful. Thank you very much.

Be ready to Climb! We went near the end of the day so it was cooler and there was not a line. I can not imagine climbing if we had to follow like cattle! We took our time and my daughters would race ahead and look down on me from above. There are spots along the way that you can... More
