I loved this mostly because I really enjoy seeing anything Michelangelo did. I'd say the main reason most people come here is to see the David. It's well worth it for that. Its a small gallery, there is music history side, and a big room of plaster casts. That's about it. The other thing that's really cool in this gallery... More

If you are in Florence you must visit the Academia and see Michelangelo's David. I would recommend getting up early and queuing at least 30 mins before it is due to open. They let pre booked and groups in first and then top up with people who haven't pre booked. If you are there early the queue isn't too bad... More

You queue for hours while being insulted and treated like cattle by the incompetent staff to get inside this small museum, where the only really interesting item to see is the statue of David. The entrance ticket is extremely overpriced. To see art, go rather to the Uffizzi. To see the statue of David (a perfect reproduction) walk in front... More

I went to see Michelangelo's statue of David. I did not spend much time looking at anything else. I was so impressed with the statue that I actually found a chair and my husband and I sat and enjoyed how impressive it is for about 20 mins to get our money's worth. We breezed through a couple other areas and... More

The only reason to come here is for the David. There aren't too many other attractions to see that you probably didn't see previously. Make sure to either buy your tickets ahead of time or purchase the Firenze card. The line to get into this museum can be very long.

We booked online and paid way too much for our tickets (double the price of a normal entry), good thing was though we went early and just walked straight in, no lining up. David is certainly incredible, I don't think you can comprehend this until you see him for yourself. The museum has some other beautiful works but it is... More

There was only one reason I went to the Galleria dell'Accademia and that was to see "The David". We were on a tour and our guide did a wonderful job of pointing out the emotion and detail and the reasoning for why and how "The David" is sculpted as he is. He truly is a work of art and so... More

Must see ... worth the waiting lines. Have patience to tackle the task. Take time to view. Always crowed.

Only go if you HAVE to see David. There was a 45 min wait with an online reservation! The staff was the rudest I have ever seen at any museum. The museum itself looks to have been designed in the 90s, and never updated. Many rooms were missing paintings and undergoing remodel. David is majestic of course, though a little... More
