Usually an art museum is a good place to go when it's raining or when it's hot outside; this is NOT the case with the Uffizi. We visited the museum this morning (mid-June) and while it was blazing HOT outside (the temperature was 38/97) - I believe it was the same temperature inside the museum. (I know it's an old... More

Even though sometimes it takes an hour to enter this wonderful museum, this symbol of Florence hides so many treasures that it is almost impossible not to like it. I spent 4 hours and they felt like minutes. I recommend it to art lovers and connaisseurs but also to all of those who want a peak into world famous painters.

My husband and I could of spent a whole week in this wonderful museum. It holds all the very best painting, sculptures and artifacts from the renaissances. You definitely have to pre-book tickets and before you even get to Italy otherwise you might miss out.

One cannot visit Florence without a visit to the Uffizi. Magnificent gallery. Booking beforehand is essential. Allow a few hours to truly experience the museum.

This place is so well organized, it makes you wonder why other museums haven't done the same. It is so easy to move from one room to another and view the (chronological) developments in art and art techniques over the centuries.

We went early June..not too crowded, not hot, and no wait for us since we bought tickets ahead. Good value for a great attraction!

One of my favorites! Along with the great works of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Caravaggio, and Rembrandt, we had amazing views all around us. I wasn't allowed to take pictures of the art, but the views were allowed. Beware that there is a line. We bought our tickets online about a month before trip. There was a small fee,... More

What a museum...huge selection of renaissance art. This is at least a half day affair for most but a day thing for the interested and a multiple day thing for the expert visitor. Find the Michaelangelo painting of the Holy Family and see it near the end of your visit..you will have a better perspective of his amazing talent.

Mostly stuffed with the renaissance works of good artists but dont expect da Vinci ( one painting !) . Because it is mostly paintings and sculpture it does get boring after the first 2 hours. The staff won't let you lean against the walls, touch the windowsills and the sitting possibilities are scarce.

A tip for travelers to Florence. I spent considerable time booking a time, date and paying a high price for the privilege of getting into the Uffizi Gallery. My plan was to purchase a Firenze Card as well to see churches and other museums. Due to the weather at the time we did not buy the Firenze Card but here... More
