The Anna Tasca lanza Sicilian cooking school is located in the heart of Sicily, among the Tasca d'Almerita vineyards, surrounded by an amazing landscape, entirely preserved by any sort of pollution. At the school hands on classes are mainly on Sicilian traditional cuisine and are prepared with ingredients seasonally farmed on the estate. « less

Fabrizia and the entire staff could not have provided a more authentic Sicilian experience. Attending this "school" is more like a lesson and a slice of not just Sicilian cooking but Sicilian culture and history. Its more like staying with (new found) friends. The setting is past gorgeous in the countryside on the families long held wine estate. The food... More

I attended Fabrizia Tasca Lanza's five day course on "Health and Terroir" which delved into the cultural, culinary, and agricultural history of Sicily. We toured several fascinating destinations: learned about the making of ricotta cheese, grain and pasta, Regaleali wine, and olive oil, plus were taken on a tour of the Roman ruins of Agrigento. The cooking portion of the... More

This is an experience not to miss out on. We spent 2 wonderful days at this beautiful, charming place called Case Vecchie. We learned how to make various Sicilian pastas, cooked fish, many different apetizers and desserts. Everything was delicious and fun to learn. Fabrizia (the owner and teacher) is passionate and it shows in her food. Our rooms were... More

After a few days of traveling around the stunning coastline of Sicily for our honeymoon, we arrived at the cooking school. Immediately, it provided a wonderful contrast to the hectic nature of touring an unfamiliar place; we instantly felt at home. Family run, this estate is perfect if you want to learn about the essence of not just cooking, but... More

Be prepared for an exquisite experience! Fabrizia Lanza provides an amazing ambience, charm and cooking experience for all. Our family of ten were thrilled to learn the art of Sicilian cooking, dine on delicious meals, stroll the beautiful Regaleali estate and winery and most importantly felt as if we were treated as family! An apron was even put on our... More

This is a Sicilian cooking school that includes, lodging, meals, two daily classes, wine tasting and tours of the local sights inluding the winery on which the school is located. The focus of the experience is on Sicilian food, cooking and the use of natural, locally-grown ingredients. There is no formal agenda for the week's activities although there are designated... More

I really wanted to enjoy this experience, but in truth, I did not. I have participated in a 3-day wine-making course in Napa, a cognac blending course in Cognac, a pasta-making course in Tuscany, and did a few 1-day cooking courses in Aspen, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles, so I came into this 5-day course with expectations of a similar... The Anna Tasca Lanza Cooking School in central Sicily is a gem. I spent three days at the School at Case Vecchie in Spring 2011. You can drive there, but I chose the hour and a bit delightful train ride from Palermo into central Sicily to Valle Lunga (just watch for the easy change of train at Roccapalumba Alia). The... More

My husband and I spent 3 days cooking and learning with Fabrizia and her father. We cooked and ate and talked. For that little while we became part of the amazing place called Case Vecchie. More

I attended a 3 day course this summer with Anna's daughter Fabrizia. The setting, on her family's estate of Regaleali in the Sicilian countryside, was spectacular and the accommodations were comfortable and nice. But most importantly the classes were wonderful! Fabrizia uses fresh local (most from her own land) ingredients and she leads the demonstrations in a fun, easy-going manner.... More
