Well worth the visit even if you do not get to see any Opera. Most events seem to be sell outs as I have never been able to get a ticket for anything. The place is immaculate inside and the guided tour is tailored in to the language of the group or individual being show round. I had a tour... More

A magical place worth visiting even if you do not like opera. In that case you may go for a guided tour which will show you the theatre and tell you all about the way it was built, who performed there and so on!

It's a famous opera house and I tried a lot to attend a performance there. Unfortunately, I didn't succeed, in spite of having tried hard. At the hotel reception, I heard that even for them it's not easy to get tickets the guests ask for. Also, the visiting hours and days were so limited that I couldn't make it. It's... More

The Teatro has a nice piazza in front of it were one can sit and relax. There are also a number of good coffee shops in the area and a pedestrianized street. It makes a nice stop away from the pace of Via Etna. There is a very inexpensive indian restaurant on the left as you enter into the street.... More

We attended an excellent concert which featured Ravel's Bolero in this beautiful old venue. The staff was pleasant and helpful, as I know no Italian.

We liked all about the theatre (interior and exterior), but I think the indicators for the location are not enough and not in the best positions.

Good diversion from a daily work schedule. Great culture experience for a visiting American - opera was outstanding!

I have been to two operas here and it is a great theater. My husband and I plan on attending many mo and the ballet next month. It is a must do in Catania. Remember to try the bars around the plaza too.

We managed to get tickets for a gallery box only hours before the performance of a Rossini Opera. 50Euros per person seems very reasonable after London prices! It is a beautiful theatre that hosts internationally known artists and popular operas - a lovely experience.

This medium sized opera house is a gem! I just happened to visit all by myself. The guide spoke fluent Spanish and shared history and facts about the theater. She even let me sit for a little while in the royal "palco". The symphony was having their final rehearsal, which made it even more special.
