Touring the cheese factory with "Alex," and then on toward the "modena balsamic experience," inhaling the aromas of award-winning vinegars, . . . both together, represented the perfect escape from the hustle-bustle of the city. With her steadfast eye as to quality choices (the luncheon, en route), her conservative driving style (as in, safety and "you're alive when you return"!),... More

This is great day out of the city with a private tour guide. The cost is very reasonable. We visited a casavecchia that still produces the nero cheese. That was a delight! We also visited the balsamico museum and production site. The lunch was incredible and made for a nice respite from the hussle and bustle of Bologna. My only... More

For our last day in town we decided to take the olive oil and wine tour. We were expecting to see olive oil production and a winery. What we got was a trip to an olive oil store, that sells wine and a nice lunch. The tour guide is a very nice girl, but during the olive oil tasting all... More

I am remiss in not having done this soon because out time with Martina in the two tours with here were one of the high points of our time in Bologna and Italy. On our first tour we visited the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese factory, coffee at a small café, a wonderful lunch, tour of some beautiful countryside and finished up... More

Rita, who was our guide for the day, was not only very friendly, but she was also extremely knowledgeable about the history of Bologna and the various attractions in Bologna providing us with recommendations based on our interests. That day we toured the Parmesan cheese factory where we saw the skilled professionals making parmesan and ricotta (a by product of... More

My husband and I decided to take a tour of the surrounding area of Bologna. We were pleasantly surprised how knowledgeable Audrey our guide was. The small group experience made the tour of the Parma factory and Balsalmico Museum so interesting. Traveling to each site through the countryside of Italy was breathtaking. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone... More

We have just returned from the day tour which includes a visit to the parmigiano cheese farm/factory and the balsamico vinegar production factory. Martine was our tour guide along with Audrey who was training. Both the ladies were very pleasant, friendly, informative and extremely knowledgeable and told us so much about the Bolognese traditions and people. We were picked up... More

The culinary tour of Bologna was one of the highlights of our Italian holiday. We were fortunate to have Martina as our guide and she was very friendly and relaxed as well as well informed and had a wealth of local knowledge. The tour started badly by us being late due to traffic and parking; however Martina was unfazed and... More

We had a wonderful day recently with Mary Kathleen and her fiance touring the region outside of Bologna. Our favorite part of the day was getting to watch them make the cheese and then getting to eat the cheese! They even brought a cooler so that we could purchase some cheese to take back with us. We also enjoyed seeing... More

We did the Market tour with Rita and had a fantastic time. We learned a lot about Bolognese cooking and foods, sampled some wonderful regional delicacies and ended up in the most charming osteria. GREAT experience highly recommend!
