The crowds were huge all day long so it was next to impossible to get into the Basilica. The Basilica has a dress code so beware(no bare shoulders or... More

We've visited this magnificent square twice - once when it was almost empty and the second time when it was packed with over half a million people who came to the Easter ceremony with the Pope blessing the audiences in dozens of languages. The square... More

Saint Peters Square is the front yard of the Basillica. It is well worth looking at, despite the huge throngs of people. More

As a person of Christian faith, this was a spiritual experience to visit during Easter. The area was very open and clean even with the mass amounts of people that were attending. More

Arrived just after eight and it was totally empty, save for some nuns and priests. It was eerie to see all the empty chairs that I had only ever seen packed on tv. There are washrooms and a post office in the square, but not much shade or places to sit. There is a nice obelisk in the centre, surrounded... More

Enjoyed the visit and was great to appear in your own version of St Peter's Square. Believe though as it was a transport strike there were hundreds of cars parked in the square. Too away some of the spectacle. More
