I am a former foreign correspondent and my wife and I are veteran travelers. we have had a lot of poor tours, but today's ancient Rome tour with Francesca may be the BEST we ever had. She is a superior guide in all ways -- perfect English, great knowledge, patience and sense of humor. I would hire her again anytime... More

We visitedin April, and the queue was long! Fortunatley we had pre booked, our time slot was 3.15, we arrived at 3.10 to be greeted with 'your late' 8 of us had spent over 100 pounds , and staff were very offhand. Once inside its great, an amazing spectacle, but the guide we had was difficult to understand and there... More

pre-booked this 3 hour tour through travel agents. This was run by Appian Line company, They pick up at hotel and drop off at a choice of central points. They were on time aswell We were issued with voice boxes to hear the guide clearly, very good idea. The tour took in The Colosseo, Forum and Palatine Hill. It was... More

Rome was never my favorite place. While a Pan Am flight attendant, I often had two or more days that I could have used to enjoy history, art, and architecture. Unfortunately I did not know Cristina Bonasera at that time. Cristina opened my heart to the city with her walking tour. I requested that we explore Ancient Rome, hoping to... More

My husband and I just had a lovely weekend in Rome. Things I would recommend for visitors: Book the Vatican in advance (we didn’t make it because of the queues) Get your ticket for the Colosseum from the Forum (a much shorter queue and also worth the look around) Hire a segway to go around Rome for the day! (Amazing... More

Our favorite day of our trip to Italy was definitely our tour of Ancient rome with Francesca Caruso! She was fantastic and we all loved her! She was warm, informative and so enjoyable to be with. She is booked up way in advance, partly because she does tours for Rick Steves. We booked her as soon as we knew our... More

I spent an amazing 5 hours with Sonia experiencing a range of sites in Rome. We stated with San Giovanni in Laterano then moved on to - San Clemente, Jewish Ghetto, Tiber Island, Santa Maria in Trastevere, Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, Pantheon and a wide range of other sites as we walked to these sites. Sonia really knows the... More

So many things to see, learn about and imagine in here that it's a definite must see. There are better preserved parts of antiquity in the city, but so many are covered in scaffolding or kept behind high fences that Ancient Rome is refreshing.

There's so little of ancient Rome left that there's really very little point in going for more than weekend, you can see everything in a couple of days. Much better are ostia antica, very impressive, villa Adriana, if you can get there! Lol and pompeii

Everywhere you looked, even when you weren't particularly looking, there were things to see. It's so full of history - it's amazing. And not just Roman, we managed to find a dig site for something they thought could be from the 4th century BC!
