Not much to say here. We walked by it, it was worth the look for sure. If you can plan it in, do a quick walk by, it is located with so many great things around it that it would almost be hard for you to miss it while in Madrid.

A little difficult to assess the monument, which is made out of the gate. Yes, the monumental structure. Yes, it is stored and to look out for. However, the indelible impression these gates can not leave.
It reminds me of the "Brandenburg Gate" in Berlin. You'l likely not miss this one, as you may drive/walk by to get to the different main points.
I really liked how Madrid kept the architecture of the munuments. This gate is really beautiful and is right next to the retiro park.
The Alcala gate, is a great monument , looks royal and worth visiting. you can take lovely photographs of the gate, whenever we passed by it, we felt like clicking a photo at a different angle.
This is located right next to the retiro. You have to go see it and the retiro as well. This is actually quite huge. A perfect picture with the retiro park behind !
I know it's just a big gate, but they are always impressive and there is history attached to this one as well. I wouldn't rate it as must see, but if you're about you should stop past.

Great place to stop by for a quick photo op and along the route to the palace and other central attractions.
At the corner of Retiro Park, Alcala Gate is a pretty monument. Good for taking pictures but there's nothing really to do but to stare at it. Leave about 10 minutes to admire the monument and then I would move on. It's prettier in the Spring when a few yellow flowers bloom nearby
